The book and its contents were excellent, exactly as advertised, and reviewed by others, which is exactly as it should be.I queried with Bookdepository why an A4 softback of about 80 pages, shipping from England, to an address in England, should require 30 - 50 days delivery, and $16.95 shipping charge for Standard (= Royal Mail) delivery, and Bookdepository were able to assure me that this was standard Amazon.com business practice. I was unable to find any reasonable reference to this, apart from the "this is how long it'll take, and this is how much we'll add to the advertised article-price for you to get it" advice on the checkout page.Royal Mail would have charged £1.30 for its delivery (I checked), and as the article only had to travel about 83 miles to reach me, the speed of delivery (according to their own estimates) could have been accomplished by someone crawling on hands and knees, and the (apparently flat-rate for every single article ordered through Amazon.com i.e. US) $16.95 looks less like a Shipping Charge than a restaurant's Cover Charge.
I highly recommend the "Vom Original zum Modell" series books. They are well illustrated with great reference pictures and line draws. This series has helped me tremendously in building my 1/72 fleet of U-Boots. They are a needed source of reference material in order to detail up your U-Boot and and cross check the details included on your model from the manufacturer. They also provide a wonderful source of material for those that wish to do variations of the U-Boot subgroup. It is also recommended reading for those that only wish to read and understand about various types of U-Boots in in-depth but easy-to-read detail. I've really enjoyed reading this series of Books from beginning to end.
