Treknology: The Science of Star Trek from Tricorders to Warp Drive Reviews
Ethan Seigel is one of the best popularizers of Astronomy and Cosmology. His column "Starts With a Bang" is great. He is a Trekkie, and fills this book with arcane knowledge of Star Trek, real science and where they coincide or diverge. He writes well, clearly without losing the basis of complex theories. Highly recommended
Very interesting book about the tech of Star Trek and what has already been developed and what is being developed in the near future. It's amazing how much presented in Star Trek back in 1966 is either already with us or is close to coming into being.
This book is a wonderful combination of Star Trek technology and the science that would be, could be or is behind that technology. Dr. Siegel is passionate and his love for both subjects comes through in this book. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this and pondering what we could do to get to any of the technology of Star Trek. If you enjoy Star Trek and/or science this is a book that you should pick up.
Exactly as expected, fast shipping, well pleased.
Fun! Fun! Fun! for the true fan of Star Trek!
Very interesting to see how the fascinating technology in Star Trek has come to life, is in process, and will probably not happen has evolved. Amazing how many things we take for granted today were imagined in Star Trek.
